Wow, i don't know what to say, i totally disagree with the not playing inside thing, that's ludicrous! When they're outside they are subjected to other animals, fleas and other bugs, cars, and various other dangers, i realize there are also inside dangers. Vinnie goes outside and plays and pottys, and plays inside. We leave him pee pads in his pen during the day so that if he needs to he can go...it hasn't taken away from his outside training and i'd rather him pee on the pad then then carpet, he also has one in the bedroom at night and he will get down and use it. My dog is a grazer, so i never take food and water away, but even if he wasn't i would never take water away. I don't think any trainer is 100%, what works for one dog may not work for every dog. We found what works for Vinnie and that's what we stick with. Dogs are animals, and animal instinct is strong. Unless my dog was displaying extremely aggressive behavior i probably would never consider a trainer, but that's just me and we had very little problems with Vinnie.
