Chelsea15, I think it depends on their hair

Coffee and Coco have long hair, while Coco is a dream to groom, has silky hair and she loves her grooming,( actually falls asleep and really looks beautiful most of the time, Coffee is more cottony, does not like being groomed and I also find that because he squats to pee, all the hair below his body gets sticky and is difficult to brush. Even though I try to be gentle and use a grooming spray, when he sees me with the brush he runs like hell. I think i'ts time for a nice short cut
I'm not sure how Abby's hair will finally be, her mom had silky hair and her dad had cottony. right now her head is silky and her body, although it is cottony, has started to feel softer and silker. who knows? I may just keep her short b/c she is always playing with my other dog. even though they get so rough, I have never seen her hair mat or have any problem? so thats why I'm thinking it would be ok for her to grow it out. She also lets me brush her and sometimes put up her hair.
