^that's kinda how we have Peanut's hair cut. Not really called a 'boy-cut' we just have the grooming person using the longest setting on the clippers, and have her trim his face and his boy parts.

And we let it grow from there for 1-2 months at a time.

The attached picture is shortly after a haircut, the picture in my avy, is after almost a month of growth.
