I would love for her to stay longer, infact another litter we went to look at the lady was sending them to their new homes at 6wks and I WAS NOT comfortable with that at all. I asked her if she'd keep him until he was 10-12wks and she said "I don't really see what the point would be in keeping him for any longer.. he needs to be socialized". That to me was a "turn off". The lady we are getting "Bella" (Not sure if that's what we will name her, my fiance wants to name her Turbo/Hemi/Disel) from has alot going on right now, I was going to ask about leaving her with Mommy a little longer - but honestly I think she'd be "ok" coming home with us. We're at my Fiance's mothers until we move into our new house and she has a s**t-Zu that will be keeping "Bella" company on the days she's actually left at home for any period of time. The plan is for her to go to work with my fiance as much as possible, until Winter comes. Then she'll probally end up going to work with my fiances mother. His mother works as a "Phone Triage Nurse" at a Doctors office so "Bella" would be able to snuggle with her ALOT and would have ALOT of attention there - very well socialized (No, she wouldn't be around the patients). "Bella" is also 1 of 12 puppies that will be going to their new homes on September 22nd. The breeder had 2 of her females deliver 5days apart.. (Bella is from the older litter). I think as of right now she'll still have 5 or 6 puppies that haven't been placed into new homes. She's an older lady who lost her husband.. I just hate asking to add any more "stressors" to her life.

I have thought about asking her, had we gotten a puppy from any other litter - I would have wanted her to stay longer. I call the breeder almost daily to check on her (She lives about 2hrs away from us so I can't go visit all of the time). I'm actually thinking about calling to see if we could go visit today.. I'd love to see how much she has grown! I'm sure she's "HUGE" now.

I am honestly quite anxious to take her to the Vet and find out what her weight is. She goes for her 1st shots on the 19th I beleive.

Speaking of shots.. are there anyones to NOT get? If she's going to be an indoor dog - does she HAVE to get a rabies? Are there ones that are elective, like with children?

I was reading the label for Pro Plan Puppies: Small Breed - any thoughts on that food? I'm thinking we'll end up doing Innove or Eukanuba (sp). Should I look at giving her wet food because of her size - can she "chew" the kibbel well enough without hurting her teeth? I've got NO problem adding water to her kibbel to soften it for her or giving her wet food.. even the kibbel for small breeds looks like it'll be hard to eat!
