Most small breed dogs are done growing by 6-7 months.
If they are late bloomers they may take 8-9 months. I've even heard of some growing until they 12 months.
Abby is only 5 months and I'm 99% sure she almost done growing, judging by her parent's weights. Her dad was 3.5 pounds and mom was 4.5. Right now she weighs 3.9 at 5 months.
I've also heard that you can take their weight at 12 weeks and double it and that will be their final weight, but I'm not sure if that's true. |
Or you could get lucky like me and have them grow for a year and half!! My boys were 4.2lbs and 6.2lbs in Dec 06 at 1 year 4 months old. Now they are 2 years old and weigh 5lbs and 8.5lbs. Go figure
