Sometimes the growth rate of the lower jaw will either slow down a little or grow a little faster which causes an over or under bite. This problem can be corrected only if the jaw either continues to grow to the correct size or slow down. If by the time the dog is a year old and has an under bite or over bite, then it will stay that way. It's rare that the problem is so severe that it interfere's with chewing.
