Any solid color or combination of colors other than blue and tan as described above.
Any white markings other than a small white spot on the forechest that does not exceed 1 inch at its longest dimension."

The above refers to the standard listing under color as:

"BLUE: Is a dark steel blue, not a silver blue and not mingled with fawn, bronzy or black hairs. TAN: All tan hair is darker at the roots than in the middle, shading to still lighter tan at the tips. There should be no sooty or black hair intermingled with any of the tan."

We will have to wait and see how the Judges interpret it.

Sonja,

You must remember that the standard is written with the mature, adult yorkie in mind. AKC wanted YTCA to add age timelines. YTCA was adamant against it, due to the fact that some yorkies are late in clearing and most likely would be DQ'd. I know my Tahlulah, though a beautiful gold now, as a pup would have been DQ'd because she took so long to clear. Charmer didn't clear until he was 2. The ones that clear later hold their color better.

You're right, the standard is very ambiguous and left open for interpretation.....we shall see. We need more breeder judges....not too many of them left. I would love them to put more emphasis on structure.
