My situation is this: I work during the day so I plan to leave the puppy in my kitchen (with puppy gates) and have an area with a pee-pee pad. But when I am home I want the dog to go outside. Well, I can leave a puppy pad out all the time if I need to...but Id like for the dog to know to pee outside too. At night she will (probably) be in her crate. Is this going to be impossible to train??
I REALLY dont want to leave the dog in her crate all day, so I thought having the bigger area and puppy pad would be better. However, if it is going to be impossible to train then maybe I will have to keep her in the crate during the day...
Anyone else do this? Am I making sense?
