After this shampoo fiasco, I decided that since I couldn't get my hands on CC systems today, I just had to do something. I went down to Duane Reade and bought some "l'oreal kids Tangle Tamer for wet & dry hair" Pear scent. I sprayed it on Chewy and combed him out and by golly he looks MUCH better and feel softer too - good for the time being. I even bought some little barrettes for him
BTW, I've heard that you shouldn't brush them dry - i would have to agree with this instruction of dog grooming. I've noticed today that there is a huge difference in the way hair looks if it is "moistened" first, just lightly.
