I did Chachi's technique of plying them with a treat. But Eddie's a total con artist. He'll drop it, then the second I give him the treat, he'll try to scoop it up and run again.

You can try using two toys. Toss the first one. When they get it, show them the second one. When they run back to get it, make them drop the first before throwing the second.
