I love my citronella collar. Best tool I ever bought to stop my dogs from barking.

If you use the collar correctly, the overall chilling effect last even if the collar is not on the dog. However, if it isn't used correctly then the dogs quickly realize not to bark when the collar is on and it is okay to bark when the collar is off.
