The only problem with the microchip is that vets aren't required to scan every new dog that comes into their practice. If someone wants to give you your dog back the chip is great. But if someone wants to keep your dog...they are not going to tell the vet they found the dog... I think it should be mandatory that all vets scan all new patients...just to be sure the names on the chip and the present owner match. |
