this is how i taught lexi to ring the bells on my front door...
i take a cup full of cheerios sit right by the door with her, i took her paw
and touched the bells and repeatively said ring the bell... of course she would
turn her head cause she was scared,, gave her a treat right away..
kept doing that for 5 minutes. stopped and started again. every day i
moved further away from the bell... i was able to then tell her to ring the
bell from 10 feet away and she would go over and touch her nose to the bell
and come to me for a treat... now when she wants to go out, she rings
the bell and i immediately let her out.. with praise |
