My Jo-Jo gets little blister things on his underbelly and after he licks them they break open...after a couple of days they do dry up and flake off like dry skin. We just went through a round of it with Jo and his vet called it 'foliculitus' and said he has a secondary infection from licking. She said to bathe him in medicated shampoo a couple times a week until it cleared up and then once a week and she put him on a low dose of prednisone for a couple of weeks and he's also on an antibiotic. I don't know what caused it with Jo...it seems to happen when he has too much oil like in a supplement or fish based food or something like that. He's now on a prescription diet to rule out food allergies.
