that you've decided to homecook! I'm using Dr. P's book too.
Another good carb you can substitute for oatmeal or rice is a sweet potato. Just wrap it in a wet paper towel and stick it in the microwave for 5 min. or until soft inside. Then scoop out the inside and mix it with a protein (I use raw ground turkey or veal) and some veggies (carrots are great).
and like others said - don't forget the supplements!
