We are Mac fans. However, when we needed to purchase a laptop, we couldn't afford the all-out Macbook that we wanted so we went for a Dell. We bought it during the 10 days of deals sale last year and have been very satisfied. It has a massive screen, nice keyboard layout, and works well for our field (graphic/web design).
