There are too many "I don't know what happend!" when dealing with pit bulls.

I personally was almost attacked by one as a kid. The dog was always very nice and I was around it alot. Then one day I have an empty paper towel roll and I am making a sound thru it and that is what ticked the dog off. The owner jumped between me and the dog and the dog attacked her instead.

Honestly, I feel they are beautiful and great guard dogs, but never would I own one with my kids or small animals.

There are just breeds that have "tendencies" more than other.....yeah, it is alot of how they are raised, then again, some are also how they were bred.
