I used to own a pit bull"Buddy"...though never at the same time as a yorkie...but..my other dog had puppies and Buddy adopted them all , guess he didnt relize he couldnt nurse them as he certainly tried to.I feel the key factor to ANY breed dog in the home..is education...research the breed you want, be willing to look at all aspects of the breeds known temperment, and follow through with learning the how too's of handling and training that breed dog.Don't just get any pit bull you come accross, research the breeder, make sure they are a reputable breeder, as they are doing thier best to breed the milder temperment of pitbull, the not so reputable ones actually want the fight to still be in the dogs for not so legal reasons.Any dog can be a danger, even a Yorkie(odd I know) I once looked up the cases of deaths by dog by breed, there was actually 2 yorkies listed as having not only caused human death....but being considered a menacing dog..go figure. The point of me sharing this with you is simple.....Knowledge is power...arm yourself with what you need to know before taking on the pup, take your already existing dog to visit a full grown pitbull...on neutral territory.....see how it reacts to it....nothing is wrong with wanting to blend large dogs with small ones.....just be smart about it and youll all have a long happy life together.
