Yapper,
Like you, I lost my Yorkie (Zack) at way too young of an age. He was going to be two a couple of weeks before he died. I was (and still am) devastated by his loss. Zack was my best friend and no one truly understands why or how his death has hit my so hard (including my parents, wife and friends). Zack was always there for me, gave me unconditional love, and always cheered me up when I was sad. It does get easier as time goes by though. Not easy, mind you, just easier. I still get really sad and still miss Zack tremendously.
As for getting a new pet- when Zack first died (it happened on May 12, 2007), the thought of a new pet was the furthest thing from my mind. But, as time passed, I missed that bond and decided it was time to start looking. My wife wanted a lab rather than a Yorkie, so we started looked for a yellow female lab. We finally found a breeder we liked and then had to wait for our Yoyo to get old enough to come home. Well, about 1.5 weeks ago, it finally happened and we picked yoyo up! She is a wonderful, loving dog who likes nothing more than sitting with us and giving us sloppy puppy kisses. She is adorable and we both love her, but I still miss my Zack so much. I still talk to him and think about him. I don't think that will ever go away. But, Yoyo has helped. Here are some pics of our little Yoyo!
