Because they couldn't starve him for 12 hours to do the bile acidic test, they did a bunch of blood work and performed an ultrasound of his liver. Blood was flowing normally from the liver and the doctor said that further tests were not worth the expense. They said they were "95% sure it wasn't a liver shunt". Hopefully they are right.
They also did neurological tests, including a test that determines if there is water on the brain. All came back negative. The reason was determined to be hypoglysemia, caused by coiccidia and anorexia. |
Wow AWESOME vets to run all that and AWESOME parents to know and trust that they should! I love to hear people say "do whatever needs to be done" Thats what I did, and yes my checking account was seriously drained and I was flat broke but, I had a happy, healthy Yorkie baby filled with love and affection....soooo worth every penny!! I hope he is eating some of the stuff suggested to you. I sure hope that nasty coccidia goes away too, I got VERY lucky with Diggy it was gone in the first round of Albon whcih the vet thought it may take 2-3 but it worked in one! I had 3 exams done after the first negative result because I didnt believe it was gone but sure enough it really was
