pnuemonia treatment--what's worked for us. Having had 100's of fosters/rescues from the shelters, I've dealt w/pneumonia on a regular basis, and am dealing w/it now. Baytril is the drug of choice for pneumonia, but I don't know if it's recommended for puppies that young. (However when we've had REALLY sick dogs our vet has done it anyway--life or death we pull out the big guns...)
We do B-12 injections, they go in the nebulizer 2-3x's a day, and we also give them ester-c. Ask your vet for dosages. Usually Clavymox does nothing for pneumonia (it's okay for plain URI but generally not strong enough for pneumonia) Orbax is the next antibiotic given for young dogs. When we have seriously sick, dying puppies we do give Baytril injections, but make sure to talk to your vet about that.
Sub-q fluids are given to keep them from getting dehydrated from the fever.
Rebound and Nutrical if they don't eat.
Hope this helps. We've dealt w/this SOOOO much lately! Good luck,
