Is there a better food out there?

If I give her an apple slice or carrot, will this mess up the chemistry of what the S/D is doing? She is always famished with this crappy canned dog food.

Thank you
Bladder infection, if present, is treated as for cystitis. In many cases the stones can be dissolved over weeks or months by feeding the dog a special diet. Struvite stones dissolve in an acid urine low in magnesium and protein, accomplished by feeding Hill's Prescription Diet s/d. Uric acid stones respond to a low purine diet (Hill's u/d, along with drugs that dissolve cystine. There are no available methods for dissolving calcium oxalate and silica stones.

I'm sure there is an all natural "real" food diet that is even better that Hill's that will do a better job, but you would have to ask a nutritionist about that or a Holistic Vet.
