Will be a very hectic year and probably a pretty poor one as I don't think I will be working much but will be worth it in the end. I have always wanted to work in OB and around here they won't let an LPN work there. Husband is all for me going back and willing to make the sacrifice of not much money while I go. I have not said anything yet to the kids but know that they will all be supportive. Would love to hear from anyone who has done this. Was it worth it etc. I have been an LPN for over 19 years now so this is all pretty scary and at 43 hope that I am not too old to do this. |
Hi. im in the rn program, but i know some who are doing the lpn to rn program. money is tight, but if you really want it you can do it. if you are worried about the money and the stress it may cause you can research online schools. there are plenty of online universities that offer lpn to rn completion programs that you do completely online and most of them offer financial aid like pell grant and/or federal student loans that you do not have to start repaying until 6 months after you graduate and you have 10 years to repay. I am also going to work in OB when i get my RN ( I have 1 year left) but when I am completely finished with school i will be a midwife.
Good luck with school...YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD TO GO TO SCHOOL!!
