The first month I taught him to heal on a leash and a collar, Now I am into having a harness to walk him and a collar and leash to for his obedience training. It does not bother him at all because he does not pull anymore on the leash and collar and heels very well.
If you teach them how to heel properly its not going to be stressful on their tracheas. IF your not gonna teach ur dog to heal properly then you may as well go for a harness as soon as you can afford one.
Like i said i keep the collar on him even in his harness because i dont want him to run away or get lost with no ID.
I can walk with him off leash as well but still with no leash I want some ID on him at all times.
