it probably means that if you do not recieve your "item" that you can cancel the transaction and get your money back. i have used paypal many times and find it to be great!
if you pay with cash or check it is NOT secure and you don't have any way of retaliating (without spending more money) if you do not recieve the goods or services you paid for.
i do not know if you get the same assurances with animals, however.
you could go to the website and get more info there. you could maybe also contact them and see if they can answer better.
