Try training Coby to 'wait' and putting out a halt hand to show him or we use the uh uh or no or say No Zoe in a stern (not yelling voice) and she gets it when we give her the 'voice'. Here's a good way, put them on a leash indoors, walk or run with them on leash and use whatever phrase you want to use, yield, stop whatever and stop the running/walking, and use that word so they can connect it. Keep doing it until they put two and two together and of course treat them during the training session. Our trainer taught us to do this as well as to go thru 'doorways' and practice this exercise.
