So here's some food for thought from a newbie. Too little protein is very bad for your dog. Too much protein for a healthy pet is harmless. Given the varying rates of protein sourcing and digestibility, are you going to gamble with your pet's health and nutrition based on general recommendations?

In all fariness, my dog probably is much more active than the other yorkies on this forum that spend a lot of time on people's laps. So I may be a bit more biased. But wouldn't it be more accurate, per the article that you linked, to say that higher levels or protein is not harmful for healthy yorkies?

Please note that in the thread that I've started, I've linked several other articles and webpages, of which, the article that you linked in one of them. Feel free to read through ALL of them as rebuttal.
