Because I would rather not burden my parents all the time taking care of my little rascal. And it isn't just making training harder, he is destroying everything. My dad simply doesn't watch him or keep him under control at all. Sure, he loves playing with him, but that's about it. Last week while I was at work, he ate half of a european chocolate bar, and no one even told me until eleven o'clock that night! I just want to make sure that he is safe, and given plenty of constructive exercise while I'm away, rather than letting him destroy all of my family's belongings. They also watch my young nephew, and I don't want to place too many responsibilities on them; that wouldn't be fair to them because he's my dog not a family dog that we all decided to get together.
Thanks for the advice everyone; Right now I can't have a dog walker come because we live in an apartment that you need three different keys to get into. We aren't allowed to make copies or give them to non residents, and honestly I don't think we're allowed to have a dog, so it would look kind of suspicious asking permission for a dog walker to be let in LOL. I'm looking for an in-home care, but just can't find any. This one seems like they have a lot of time playing and exercising with other dogs and the staff there, which is why it appealed to me. Also, they offer other services like grooming and photography, and if I ever need to leave him overnight I can feel comfortable knowing that he is in a familiar place. It is pretty close to where I work too. I want to go see the place this weekend, but I have to go out of town tomorrow so I think I will go after work sometime next week.
My boyfriend just made an offer on a condo that is closer to where I work, so maybe I'll be able to find a dog walker near there. We won't be moving in for a while though, as we have just started the process, so I don't know....
