They are abour 3 1/2 inches long; slightly curved and are rounded on the tips. I think they allow more control. I keep them trimmed really short.
Lordy, I am writing another book--BUT, if your baby's face is always wet from tearing, your baby could have a problem with their naso-lacrimal ducts being clogged or not formed properly. Have your vet use the dye that they use to check for corneal abrasions. They then wipe and rinse the eye and see if ANY ORANGE shows under the blue light (no, not the blue light special at K-mart) coming out of the nostrils. If no orange the ducts are not draining the tears from the eyes.I have each dog's ducts flushed with their first dental as a routine.
