I've never tried the Arm & Hammer ones. I can't remember the name of the ones I have. I got them from PetSmart, they have blue backing. Jake never soaks through his, and they don't smell at all. I've never used the washable ones, but I've thought about it. Others here use them and love them. I sometimes change his pad 2-3 times a day, depending on how much he goes. And, I pick up the poop with tissues and flush it because I don't want to look at it all day.
I've never had a problem with them smelling bad.
