Default training

As soon as a dog does anything..it is gone from their minds. The owner comes home and finds a puddle on the carpet..the owner gets upset and points out the mistake, yells or what ever..the dog sees the puddle, but has no clue why we are upset...they do not put two and two together..if they act remorseful it is because our voices indict something is wrong...the first rule of housetraining is to get a rolled up newspaper...each time the puppy pees on the floor, smack YOURSELF in the head with the newspapers..in a few days YOU will have learned to confine them to an expen, use belly bands on males etc. when you can not watch them..Yorkies can be very hard to train and we have to stop the mistakes before they happen...once a puppy starts carpet peeing it is hard to get the odor out and they return to the same smells. Carry them around the house with you..room to room...have wee-wee pads in each room to start out. Never leave them alone unpenned..a nice size ex-pen is a safe area and they love their "dens" once they get used to them..I am not much for a small carrier or kennel...they will soil their beds if they do not have space...Yorkies have tiny bladders and can not hold it long.
That vet is not the type you want...change and send a letter telling them why. I do not enjoy a spoiled Yorkie either, but getting upset at the vets is not a big deal to me...they are small enough to hold and most vets expect toy dogs to be nervous and afraid. If one of mine is crying and noisy, I just pat it's mouth and kiss it alot. It is hard for a Yorkie to cry if you are kssing their little Yorkie lips. LOL
