When Spike had his neuter done, he also needed 10 baby teeth pulled. My vet doesn't do surgeries, so he sent me to a canine dental specialist who quoted me $1400. I though that was really high, so I got another estimate from a vet my co-worker recommended. They quoted me $800, so Spike went there, and they were great. In hindsight, I should have asked my vet if one of his colleagues would do it (there's four or five vets in the office), but eveything turned out okay. When Spike got a little infection last month and needed antibiotics, they only charged me for the pills - $17!!! I thought that was great - and I really like my vet.
My new rule is - don't be afraid to get a second opinion! |
