Might also have injured one of his toes, which is why he only seems to favor it when he's standing still.
Ozzie did this a few years ago while running up the basement stairs and getting a nail hooked in an unraveled piece of carpet. Got some pain meds for him and tried to discourage running and jumping and it took several weeks to really heal.
