Puppy anxiety? While on vacation last week, Molly (4 mos) stayed with a friend. This friend has 3 cocker spaniels. She loved to play and seemed to adjust well. She didn't eat as much, but did eat some and slept well. She's been at this friend's house before, and I can't imagine leaving her with anyone else if I can't be there for her.
Since then, if I leave her gated in the bathroom while I'm fixing supper, or just to keep her safe while I can't keep an eye on her, she seem very anxious. Where she used to play and eat in there just fine, now she seems to sit in one place and sometimes looks like she's shaking.
I don't want to feed any anxiety by rescuing her all the time with a "poor baby", but I would like to help her get past this. I've just tried to get her back on schedule, and checking in on her for a quick pet or play every few minutes when she's in there. Any other suggestions? Could she be missing the other dogs? She does try to play with our outdoor dogs and cat every time she can.
Thanks!
