I finally found Cowboy Magic in my town...from a store that sells products for horses, rabbits and farm animals. Cowboy Magic has 3 products...a detangler, a shampoo and a demineralizer (I guess horses get minerals in their hair?)
I've been using the detangler for a couple days on Bentley's mats. It's a big job because he only tolerates grooming for a short time....though he seems to be getting better about it. He is very soft coated and cottony. It seems to help. But Cowbot Magic feels just like the product called PINK..a human hair glosser I purchased at Walmart a while ago. The Cowboy Magic comes in a tube and is a bit thicker. It's about the consistency of KY jelly. Hmmmmm. there's an idea. Anyone try KY Jelly?
The PINK is a spray on liquid...has some oils and other products too numerous to type here. I think it works just as well as the Cowboy Magic....perhaos better. Bentley's coat doesn't seems greasy when I use it. Maybe that's a sign that his hair is dry.
Frankly I don't bath him very often....only if he really seems a mess. Let's face it...how often would a dog in the wild bathe?
