I have two girls that weigh 4 1/2 and 5 1/4 lbs. I have breed each of them. They are sisters. Both are free whelpers and always have five puppies each. Now, after saying that, they are short on the ground and VERY wide bodied andd wide pelvises. It depends on the dog. I have another one that is just under that and the breeding was a disaster. I should have known better but I took my vets advice that she would be okay. Very small built, two puppies. Nothing but problems with the mama. She had to have a section and is now spayed so it never will happen again. |
