Thankyou everyone. I've gotten some good ideas to ponder. Ginger is only 4.5 lbs and even tho she has always had her dry food available, she seldom eats all of it.
I think I will keep to feeding them their wet food in separate places and leave the dry out (I like the idea of puppy/adult dry together) and see what happens. Just going to have to watch them and see how they do over the next couple weeks.
