this is not "rescue". rescue - when you go to a shelter or rescue organisation and ADOPT a puppy.

BUYING a pet from pet store is not "rescue", this is just supporting puppy mills business.
I think that regarding a puppy bought from a pet store as a rescue is a way to help oneself come to terms with the fact that they have unintentionally supported a despicable practice.

I, myself, have unknowingly bought a puppy mill puppy and I feel unbelievably guilty about it. I did my research on Yorkies through reading books and talking to a friend who had had one but I was totally unaware of the existence of puppy mills until I joined YT. The information is not well known enough in the general public and people who have made the mistake of buying a pet shop puppy WITHOUT knowing about puppy mills should not be made to feel badly about it; it's a learning experience and now they can tell all their friends and families about it.

While I agree with you that a puppy mill puppy is not a rescue in the sense that most people think of, I was wondering if you know what happens to pet store puppies if they are not bought? Are they euthanized? Are they given to shelters? Tucker was getting to be pretty old in terms of puppy shop talk and I wonder what would have happened had I not come along. I can't imagine life without him and I wouldn't trade him for the world. Would I buy from a pet shop again? Absolutely not but what's done is done and now I can inform others about the horrible practices of pet shops and puppy mills.
