I never used the crate because we work long hours also about 2-3 days a week so what I did was just confine her to the bathroom, she always used the pad and now she has free run of the living room and kitchen of the apt while we are gone and she does great. I know a lot of people think crate training is the only way and for some I guess it is, but for our schedules, confinment worked better. You can't keep her in a crate for 10 hrs and if that is how long you are gone, just keeping her in the kitchen is prob better. Just my opinion! good luck.
