I think I read somewhere that big ears and a long snout tend to be dominate traits in a yorkie and once you have them in the lines, it is hard to breed them out. I think your puppy has genes in it's line for slower-growing hair, big ears, and a long nose. So many people are breeding yorkies that don't meet the standard that a lot of yorkies don't really look like what a yorkie is supposed to anymore. You say you like big ears and a long nose on a yorkie so I think you'll be happy with your puppy - based on his pictures I would expect him to have these traits as an adult along with hair that doesn't grow fast.
