I know EXACTLY what you are going through... Our little Mia is 11 wks old. We got her at 8 wks, and the week we got her, we were trying to teach her to "sit". Our neighbor used to judge terriers, and he told us to hold the treat above her head, and she would sit, or to push her bum down, and say "siiiitttt" while doing so. What a joke!!! She was so spastic, that she just jumped all over the place and wouldn't even focus on the treat above her head!!! She just knew there was a treat somewhere, and she was on a mission to find it! We gave up for a week, and just let her get used to the idea of "treats", and us, and her new environment, and started working with her the second week she was here. She then picked up "sit" in about 10 min, and now knows, "lay down", "shake", and "say please" (she does this cute little growl for her treat...soooooooo cute!!!!) Can you tell I am a VERY proud mommy!!?? I don't know how old Dash is, but maybe he just needs to get "settled" in. Don't worry, he will be a very smart dog, and pick it up so easily! Especially because you are such a good mom to him, and are so dedicated to him! You remind me of myself... I am a new mom to Mia, and I just want her to have the best life, and know EVERYTHING....RIGHT NOW!!! He will get it! Hang in there! Oh, and I just tried Honey Nut Cheerios with Mia... she goes CRAZY for them, and will do anything for them! Try that!
Sorry I rambled... I hope this helps a little!!! And Congrats on your baby! |
