Someone who had pet insurance told me that the policy expires every year. That after a year you get issued a new policy "not renew" the old one. This makes everything a pre-existing condition after one year. If your pet had a serious problem,or something chronic like arthritis, it would only be covered for the remainder of the 1 yr policy, then be considered pre-existing when you went to buy your policy for the next year. I do not have pet insurance. this was passed on to me by an older couple in my vet's waiting room.
