I completely understand what you went through w/your in-laws MDSHELLE!
My bf's mother ALWAYS says things like that about my fur baby. Everytime we come back after going to obedience classes she HAS to ask us how Tobi did, and when we tell her he was one of the most well behaved in the class she always has to say "OH, REALLY?!?" as if it's such a surprise. My yorkie is still a puppy, but he's really well behaved, and she just drives me up the wall when she insinuates that he's a terror!
