This is true only in a market that is driven by consumers. The government and large corporations drive the market in our economy, not individual consumers. The same is true for voting- we don't have a true democracy, which is the only situation for which your argument would stand. Like I said though, that is getting into another thread.

   | Regarding the clicker, I think it does work great for some dogs, and it seemed to speed up the training for some of the dogs in Sukoshi's puppy training class, but Sukoshi herself was scared to death of the sound the clicker made, so we had to ixnay the idea of the clicker right away! You'll just have to see how Oliver reacts for that one! Good luck!!! |

You can muffle the clicker by putting it into the sock so that it isn't as sharp sounding, and you can only click halfway (just push down and don't release the metal strip back up) The clicker just lets your dog know which behavior it is that they are getting praised for. It is more accurate than verbal praise, especially for commands like sit, when they need to know as soon as their tush hits the floor that it is what you wanted. It is supposed to be a positive reward though, so if the puppy is scared of it by all means don't use it!
