You are doing great. Slowly you can give her more freedom after you know she is empty. Each time she goes outside you give her a little freedom/playtime. That gets increasingly longer as weeks/months go by. Eventually you will be able to still take her out often, but she will not need to go in between when you take her out. If she has an accident, then you go back a step and she spends more time in her crate.
You may want to confine her to a tiled area when she is not in the crate if you want to completely prevent accidents on the carpet. Make sure you clean it well with an enzyme cleaner. I don't have anywhere in my house that I could confine mine, so they just got freedom and I kept a VERY close eye on them. Sammy still needs supervision, but she is no longer confined. She is only crated when we are not home. Loki is 100% and rings his bells to go outside. |
