I have to admit I spoiled my baby a bit too much after his accident. He wasnt eatting much so I would seperated a very tiny protion of ground beef, chicken or steak. He was 2.9 lbs before the accident and after he lost 6 oz. That may not sound like alot but to see him you can see the difference. His ribbs and hip bones were showing. It broke my heart to see him so I started giving him people food. I took him to the vet for a post op and he is now a whopping 3 lbs. He's tiny body has meat on it now! Now when I am preparing dinner he's right there just watching me. He trys so hard to get my attention. He'll start with a little whimper. And if I don't pay attention then he'll bark. And if that does't work, he'll come up to me and put his paws on my feet and gives me a few licks. Now how can you say no to that??? So what I started doing this week is I'll put him in the other room with my husband and close the baby gates. And when dinner is ready, we put him in his crate with a doggy treat while we eat. He cried the first few times, but yesterday he realized that we were not going to give in, well see how it goes today. It takes time but if you lay down the law your baby will know what they can and can not do and get away with.
