Most of the breeders around here also show their dogs. They do not breed until their dog has won a championship. They also only breed their dog to a stud who also has won a championship. This is how they increase the odds that the puppies will adhere to the standard. They usually don't breed for money, but instead do it because they love the breed and strive to make it better. They are always hoping their next litter will have the perfect yorkie who could win best-in-show. If you are interested in showing yorkies, you could take this approach and only breed once your dog has won a championship. |
