it sounds like your neighbor could be alot worse, nicer too but there are many neighbors who would've just called the police and reported you and not approached you at all so you are lucky in that respect that she at least gave you a warning. I think your husband is doing the right thing by making nice no matter how difficult that may be at times because I think it would make it a lot more difficult to turn you in if she likes you. I would bake some cookies and say thank you for being so understanding or I'm sorry if my dogs bothered you or something like that because as difficult as it might be you have to remember what is the most important thing?
