2nd and most important clipper burn can be caused by the angle you set the blade to the skin. The clipper should be parallel to the skin, if you tip the clipper to much you will be placing the teeth against the skin and it can dig in a bit and cause clipper burn. The clippers should never touch the anal area, just set them gently down on either side of the anus.
And then some dogs skin is just very sensitive and maybe a longer blade length is best. But remember, a longer blade has more open teeth and can cut skin easier.

that's what happened...I never trim rhe actual anus - just around it - and it's like less than 10 seconds to trim her back there - so I know it wasn't heat but I must not have had the trimmer level. I still can't believe it...her little booty looks like a little glazed doughnut it's so puffy now
