Our vet said he had to have had gihardia when we got him because of gestation period and he was diagnosed on 3rd day.Vet also mentioned that good probablility the mother was a carrier. Usually not a devasting disease but on these little guys it is so do watch your little one. The judge did tell Kelly in court that she broke the law (by not supplying a vet examination etc) Anyway can you please forward her phone number. If she is heading to Virginia we won't know how to resolve our still pending court issuue.
Thank you.

Interesting. I have never heard of Giardia leading to complications except if it is left untreated with long and untreated bouts of diahrrea and/or vomiting and you will know they have it from the diahrrea. I have had Vets miss it in the stool sample and now I have Vets that I can get the required medication from and just put them on it. Flagyl is the treatment of choice for giardia.
I hope the right person is being sued as in my opinion often Vets screw up and blame a breeder. I am not saying it is your Vet it could be the breeders Vet or if the breeder knew giardia was there, the pups/dogs should have been on meds. If they were on Flagyl it may have not been long enough.
It is kind of hard to know who is negligent.
A vet check by the breeders vet for a health certificate does not require, to the best of my knowledge, a stool sample so giardia, coccidia, worms would never be picked up on that might be there. If there are no symptoms yet, the Vet, the breeder and the buyer wouldn't know. Even with a stool sample Vet's or their techs miss stuff all the time.
